Ms. Cailin Birch is a Global Economist at Economist Intelligence Unit Ltd.
She is responsible for the EIU’s supply, demand and price forecasts for 25 of the most frequently-traded global commodities.
These include crude oil, natural gas, coal and a range of industrial raw materials and agricultural goods.
She also provides regular analysis on the biggest issues that influence the EIU's global forecast, and shapes the company's editorial response to political and economic trends around the world.
Before joining the Global Forecasting team, Ms. Birch was a Senior Analyst on the Middle East and Africa team, specializing in North, West and Central Africa.
Before joining the EIU, she worked as an African Economic Analyst for Oxford Business Group, traveling between the US and Morocco.
Ms. Birch holds a Master's degree in International Security from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences-Po Paris) and a Bachelor's in International Politics from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
