In addition to Twilight Venture Partners, Dr. Watanabe is the Chairman of both Bio Crossroads and Marcadia Bio tech.
He is a Director of Ambrx, Endocyte, Kalypsys, QuatRx, and Reliant as well as Indiana University Foundation, the Regenstrief Foundation and Christel House International.
He is also worked as Senior Advisor to Frazier Healthcare Ventures.
He retired from Eli Lilly & Company in June, 2003 as Executive Vice President of Science and Technology and a Director.
He joined Eli Lilly & Company as vice president of Lilly Research Laboratories, where he was also elected to the Board and named Head of Research and Development.
Dr. Watanabe had previously been a full time faculty member at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he was also a professor of medicine and Chairman of the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Watanabe received his education and training at Wheaton College, Indiana University School of Medicine, Indiana University Medical Center and the National Institute of Mental Health.
He has served as an officer of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association and as a consultant to the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration.
He is the author, co-author or editor of numerous peer reviewed scientific publications, medical books and book chapters, and he has served on the editorial boards of multiple scientific journals.
